Flynn’s is a mobile cafe, now stationed next to Singleton Park’s Swiss Cottage building, which was built in the 1820s as a school for ‘Dames’! Flynn’s uses beans from Horsham Coffee Roasters, which are some of the best to be had in the country, and consistently found in coffee fans’ list of favourites. The cafe’s friendly owner Ashley not only serves good drinks — she’s also a mine of knowledge on eating & drinking options in the area and probably more besides. At last visit, she was also serving doughnuts from the Uplands’ The Crazy Baker.
A short walk from Flynn’s is the park’s botanical garden, the south end of which features wooden benches under mature trees looking down to the seaside: perfect for enjoying a coffee. The rest of the park is large (101 hectares!) and well-kept, an unusual treat in what is practically the center of the city. (Hint: there is limited off-road parking inside Singleton Park by way of the North entrance, somewhat hidden unless you know it’s there.)

The Swiss Cottage is currently being re-developed by a local entrepreneur as a community hub, at which point Ashley is slated to operate its outdoor cafe/restaurant.
